Uganda Health Marketing Group World AIDS Day Message

UHMG wishes to announce the 5th Regional Marketing Conferences scheduled to take place in Gulu on 11th November 2011 and Fort-portal on 25th November 2011 respectively under the theme: "Investing in Human Resource: A Best Practice for the Private Health Sector".

UHMG’s HIV/AIDS program officially launched the Boda-Boda “Get ready to roll” campaign in the West-Nile districts of Nebbi, Arua, Koboko and Moyo where a total of 104 master trainers and peer educators were graduated after receiving HIV prevention training. The training built their capacity in behavioral change communication using IPC approaches with focus on partner reduction, correct and persistent use of condoms as well as demand generation and referral for HCT (HIV counseling and testing), Medical Male Circumcision (MMC), Sexually Transmitted infections (STI) management.

UHMG took part in the Technology for Social Accountability Exposition, which was organised by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Republican Institute (IRI) to promote the benefits of citizen participation in good governance. The one day expo’s main objective was to bring together the Ugandan civil society working with accountability and transparency, and government institutions responsible for service delivery with technology service providers that have tools and skills to make those efforts more efficient and effective.

3rd March 2011 was indeed a memorable day when AFFORD, the 5 year USAID funded Health Marketing Initiative celebrated 5 years of successful health interventions in Uganda.
