Clovirex is UHMG's brand of acyclovir. Oral acyclovir is approved for the treatment of initial and recurring episodes of herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), genital herpes virus (HSV-2) and varicella-zoster virus. Topical acyclovir is approved for the treatement of initial episodes of genital herpes and HSV infections in immu-noncompromised patients. Clovirex comes in both a cream and dispersible tablet form.
